BIO

Ruijing Bu is a Chinese female director and screenwriter. She can also work professionally as a sound recordist and assistant director. 

After she graduated from Shanghai Theatre Academy, she studied MA Filmmaking at London Film School. She is dedicated to being an observer of everyday life and has a knack for capturing and exploring the subtle emotional moments of human beings. Her works often explore the struggles of women and the challenges faced by outsiders.

At the age of 21, her film ‘The Roots’ had been featured by Jia Zhang-Ke's Arts Center， supported by the China Film Association and the Special Fund for the Development of Chinese Literature and Art, and selected for the Shanghai Film Association's Young Directors Program.

Her latest short film  ‘No One Will Ever Know’ won the first prize at Talent Film Academy of Linz International Short Film Festival, with the residency at short film market, Festival de Cannes 2023.  Her other works have also been awarded as best film and nominated in international film festivals.

She is now working on her feature film project.
